HERMANUSPIETERSFONTEIN KLEINBOET RED WINE BORDEAUX BLEND 2013 (HPF)

The boisterous younger brother of the five varietal Bordeaux-blend styled. Kleinboet has dark fruit and fynbos spice in his genes. His intense palate and bold structure does not disappoint. Small name for a grown-up wine with Wine of Origin Sondagskloof written all over him.

TASTING NOTES

Alcohol: ± 14.0% Vol

Appearance: Brick red to deep purple

Aroma: Blackcurrant, lavender, black olive, fynbos

Palate: Fruit intensity, supple and round, harmonious

VINEYARD

Altitude: 200-297m

Soil: Sandy loan on clay; weathered sandstone with high organic content

Yield: 5.5 tons per hectare (37hl/ha)

VINIFICATION

Maceration: 3-4 days cold maceration before fermentation; 1-4 weeks extended maceration after fermentation; ±3 punch-downs per day

Fermentation temp: 24-26°C

Malolactic fermentation: In tank

MATURATION

This Hermanuspietersfontein Kleinboet red wine All 5 varieties blended together and aged as a blend for 24 months in 6000ltr French oak foudre

In bottle pre-release: 12 months

Ageing potential: 7-10 years and longer

On orders of just £100 or above – order by 12pm for next working day service.

Saturday deliveries will take place on an ad-hoc basis at £30 plus vat on top of the standard delivery charge for the specified area. Please email your order to [email protected] and a we will contact you regarding your order. Delivery is between 9am and 6pm - goods may be left by instruction.

For orders of less than £100 we charge just £12.75 excluding vat within London*.
