This Pinotage is a single-block wine, from the smallest production unit for vineyards that may not exceed six hectares per variety. Jan Harmsgat Farm or JHG, is situated on the most southern tip of the Robertson Wine valley along the foothills of the Langeberg Mountains. Our Farm’s unique position borders both the dry climate of the Little Karoo as well as the Mediterranean cool sea breezes from the Coastal Regions. The direction of planting runs east to west.
The 680 ha. farm straddles the lush mountainous belt with its vines, orchards of fruit, nut and olive trees is the source of its highly acclaimed preserves and produce. Indigenous wildlife such as Black Wildebeest, Springbuck, Grey Rheebuck and Ostriches are to be seen here, along with many smaller creatures and birds.
